Match Date: October 28, 2016
The end of the steel season is here and that means the annual 777 match. This is a fun match shot right before Halloween where each string consists of 7 rounds each. Instead of payouts via the Lewis Class System, they distribute plaques to the Class and overall division winners. It is a great time each year.
While this was not my best performance, this was still a great match for me. I was one second too slow to win a plaque this year, but there is always next year. I got into my own head as I was shooting. I am not used to the 7th round and it was throwing my cadence and round counts off. So that resulted in some misses that drove my time up.
The weather was awesome for a match like this. It was not too hot or too cold. I could live with shooting in that kind fo weather all year around! The best part of this match is getting to shoot in the darkness a little. As you can see from the picture on the left, it results in some really cool image captures. That is a still from the video (see below) that I always make sure to shoot. It just shows you that even a rimfire .22 can create a ball of flame.
This was such a fun match for me and this is always a fun and great way to end the steel shooting season. I can’t wait till next year and the start of the next season season. Till then that means alot of Dry Fire and range time.
That’s it for this match.
Enjoy the video! I took the liberty to add some spooky special effects to this one for Halloween. Also I am using a new video editing software, so bear with me if the video is a little choppy or wierd while I am learning the new software.
Have a Happy Halloween!
