Match Date: June 24, 2016
So this was my second match for the year shooting steel and I decieed it was time to get back to the basics of this sport. Just having fun! So I decided that this year was going to be all rimfire and fun. I am going to shoot my modified M&P22 in rimfire division and see what happens.
Because things have been so busy this last month, I finally got a chance to go shoot tonight. It was a typical steel shooting evening in the summer. Hot, sticky and bleh. This was the first time I actually got to shoot the modified 22 off the range and I had a blast. It was so much fun! It was way different shooting with a red dot. I found that setting it all the way up and having the biggest reticle showing, I could see it easily, even in the sun.
Shooting this match, I noticed an increase in speed. I don’t know if it had something to do with shooting 22 or using the red dot, but I did notice I shot a little faster then normal with the 22. I am of course going to compare all the matches this year and see if my speed improves as I get more comfortable with shooting the gun.
I did have one major stoppage with the gun on stage 1, but they let me reshoot that string because of the problem. It feed a round funny and jammed up good. It took me a couple of seconds to clear the malfunction, so they let me reshoot. I cut that part of the video.
Otherwise it was a great night for shooting steel and I had a blast. Can’t wait till next time I get to ping some steel.
That’s it for this match.
Enjoy the video!
