Match Date: September 19, 2015
It’s been a couple of weeks since I have been able to shoot a Steel match. But I should make it a habit LOL. I shot my 3rd best match ever tonight. I am pretty pumped at how well I did. 48.34. To took a 10th place finish which is great. And I missed a payout by literally .01 seconds. The guy who beat me had a 48.33. Talk about close!
The night was pretty nice. It was a little warm, but not stifling like it has been that last few weeks. The week prior to this match was a rain out and a couple of weeks ago it was so hot it was oppressive.
But tonight was great shooting weather. I really nailed this match. I was on fire and moved so fast. I pushed myself to the edge of my envelope and found a new limit there. I was hitting my targets, my transitions were smooth and my reloads were blazing fast. I was able to hit all my marks.
I was pretty pumped when I hit sub 10 second times on stage 3. I will grant you the stage was pretty easy, but it is not always this easy.
Tonight I had a great time. So now I just need to take two weeks off. No really just kidding. Now that I know that I can do it, I need to stay at this level.
That’s it for this match.
Enjoy the video!
What I did wrong: I lost focus on my front sight on stage 2 and threw way too much unneeded lead down range on stage 3. I had hit the target, but I was moving so fast, I didn’t realize it till after I sent 3 more rounds down range.
What I did Right: I had a hell of a night. I was fast, on target and smooth.
