Match Date: July 3, 2015
What better way to celebrate our Freedom then to go shooting the evening before the 4th of July? It’s even better when you get to go bang on some steel. That’s just what I got a chance to do this week.
Sadly, while celebrating our Independence makes me happy, this was not the performance I was hoping for in that regard. To say that I am sad is an understatement.
I know. All athlete’s, in some form or another, have a bad game once in a while, but it is still disappointing when it happens. I blew it on stage 1 and that set the tone for the whole rest of the night for me. But oh well.
My friend Justin was there this time and it was great to get to shoot with him again. Sometimes life happens and getting to shoot with friends is tough. He did great and beat me fairly well.
The weather started out great. It was nice and cool and had a nice breeze blowing. Then it got a little humid right before a rain shower popped up on us. Justin and I had just finished when it started to rain and had gotten under cover.
Over all the match was a blast and I had fun. My times could have been way better, but it just comes down to practice. I got some new equipment from Justin so I can’t wait to try that out and write a review.
Enjoy the video!
What I did wrong: I pushed way too hard on the stages. I tried to go way to fast and need to back it down. When I take my time and concentrate, my times came beck down to where they should be. So I need to hold back a little and work my way back into shooting.
What I did Right: I was able to get myself calmed down enough to get my times back down on stage 1 but it was way too late. But all my reloads are good still. Almost fumbled one on Stage 2 but otherwise it was pretty solid.
