Match Date: May 22, 2015
Another Friday, another Steel Match. Tonight was great. The weather was once again perfect for a match, it was nice and the humidity was low. It made for a great night shooting. There were many new faces there tonight. I am not sure where people are hearing about FNS, but it is a good thing. It’s better then getting stagnant and losing people. Part of me hopes they hear about it from this blog and from our YouTube channel. If you do read about this and participate in FNS, please let me know. I would love to know.
I swung past the house and picked up my bride to bring her along. She sat in the car again because of the baby and watched what was happening while taking care of working on thank you cards from the baby showers we had. I shot tonight by myself. My friends Shawn and Matt showed up after we were done so we couldn’t shoot together tonight. One night I might be able to wait a little later one night for them but who knows 🙂
As you will see in the video, I completely blew stage 2. As soon as the buzzer went off, I forgot what the course of fire was and just started shooting. I just started shooting with no idea of what to do LOL. Oh well. All shooters have a day like that. LOL. That’s why my score was run up so high.
As always enjoy the video below and stay tuned to next time for another match Summary.
What I did wrong: I forgot the plan and course of fire for stage 2. Otherwise, I had a small problem with sight picture on stage 3. I also put a longer transition then needed in Stage 1. I thought It would have worked better, but it didn’t seem to speed things up.
What I did Right: I held it right on the edge for stage 1 and 3 for shooting at speed. It felt very good and I think I can get a little faster over the next few matches.
