Match Date: June 13, 2014
The week prior I was not feeling well and the transmission decided to go out in our Escape, so I decided to skip both Steel and IDPA that week. So this was the next match after that. It didn’t go too bad. I was a bit slower, but I was trying some new things to make sure I was practicing fundamentals.
Last Match I shot, I realized that I was not making sure I had a good grip out of the holster. So one of the things I made sure I did was establish my grip before drawing. As I came up, I reminded myself to grip the gun properly. It made a difference. I was more accurate and gun didn’t feel like it was going to fall out of my hand, unlike the last time. Otherwise it was a gorgeous day for shooting.
What I did wrong: This one is tough this week. I was trying to make sure I was aiming properly and had a better grip. There were some targets on Stage 3 I couldn’t hit for whatever reason, but oh well.
What I did Right: Much better grip.
